On 2 November 2015 Andrew Mackenzie and Nick Reed of Begbies Traynor were appointed as joint administrators of W.Braithwaite & Son Limited.
The company, based in Liverpool, is a building contractor and shop fitter dating back to 1899. It carries out work for various blue chip companies including several hospital trusts, universities, councils, banks and building societies.
“Unfortunately, over the last 12 months, the company has suffered a number of issues resulting in the current financial difficulties,” explains joint administrator Andrew Mackenzie. “The majority of the 22-strong staff have been made redundant, but a skeleton staff of seven remains to complete certain contracts.
“The company has a strong reputation and an excellent track record and we are currently looking for expressions of interest for the business and or the assets of the company.”
Andrew is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner, Chartered Certified Accountant and has a degree in Accountancy and Finance. He joined the Leeds office of Begbies Traynor in January 2006 having previously worked for PwC, Baker Tilly and BDO Stoy Hayward. Andrew opened a Hull office for the firm on 1 May 2008 and has a broad range of experience in Corporate Rescue and Recovery, restructuring, personal insolvency, business investigations, review work and funding solutions.
