Begbies Traynor Group plc is a growing national professional services company who deliver exceptional advice and support to clients from a comprehensive network of UK and offshore locations.  

We have more than 1,200 colleagues and partners and our professional colleagues include licensed insolvency practitioners, accountants, chartered surveyors and lawyers. 

We’re market leading and award winning within many of the sectors we operate in which include business recovery, financial advisory & funding and property services.  

We are looking for an SEO Strategist to work under the guidance of our SEO Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimising our digital marketing strategy. While we have strong and varied expertise across our digital marketing team, we are looking to enhance our already strong digital presence and need someone to assist us in achieving more of our goals.

You’ll work from our Preston office (city centre location) with flexible working available – option to work up to 3 days from home.

What will you do?

As an SEO Strategist, you will work across the Begbies Traynor Group brand and various service lines. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a digital marketing strategy aimed at attracting new business through SEO channels. You will have the support of the Group's in-house digital marketing team to help you achieve this.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive digital campaigns with a specific emphasis on SEO metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth research on our services to uncover new SEO opportunities in line with our objectives.
  • Analyse competitors' digital activities to glean insights and refine our SEO campaigns for greater effectiveness.
  • Keep up to date with the latest digital trends, Google algorithm updates, and innovative SEO strategies.
  • Operate within a digital team made up with experts in content, social media, SEO, paid media and UX.

What we’re looking for
  • B2B digital marketing experience (required), with B2C and finance experience being desirable.
  • Hands-on expertise in both national and local SEO, including optimisation techniques and targeted campaigns.
  • Advanced understanding of both onsite and offsite SEO, keyword research, website architecture, and acquiring quality backlinks.
  • Strong passion for data, analytics, and campaign performance.
  • Familiarity with a range of digital tools including Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, WordPress, GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager and Lucky Orange/Hot Jar.
  • Hardworking, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communicator and team player.
  • Naturally organised, self-directed, strategic thinker with a high motivation to prioritise work independently.
