The move by the company, which is headquartered regionally in Salisbury, will enable it to build on work it has already done in the town and with the wider Wiltshire and Oxfordshire business communities.
The five-strong Swindon team will be headed up by regional managing partner Julie Palmer, who leads the firm’s South West and Wales teams.
The Swindon office is located on Windmill Hill Business Park, off Whitehill Way, in the west of the town.
Begbies Traynor, whose South West regional team won Regional Insolvency Practitioner Firm of the Year in last year’s national Insolvency and Rescue awards, also has offices in nearby Bath and Bristol.
Speaking of the development, Julie Palmer said: “We are delighted to announce our move into Swindon and are really looking forward to offering our renowned financial consulting and recovery expertise to local businesses.”
Julie added: “Many firms are finding that as the economic recovery continues, fresh challenges such as over-trading and consequent cash-flow strains are once again threatening businesses with ambitious growth plans. At Begbies Traynor we have developed a track record for helping management teams to place their businesses on a secure footing, in order to take advantage of increasing opportunities that Swindon offers.”
The Swindon team will consist of Julie Palmer (regional managing partner), Neil Vinnicombe (partner), Simon Campbell (director), Andrew Hook (administrator), Julie Wilson (office manager).
Julie is a law graduate who qualified with Price Waterhouse in 1994. Julie joined Smith & Williamson in 1997 and became a partner in 2001. With Mike Stevenson, Julie set up Middleton Partners offices in Salisbury and Southampton, both of which are now part of Begbies Traynor.
