Charles is heading up the Offshore Corporate Intelligence Service at the St Helier office of Begbies Traynor. He joins the Group from BDO Alto Forensic Services where was a director for five years.
A former States of Jersey Police detective, Charles has considerable experience of fraud investigations, asset tracing, money laundering, illicit markets and covert intelligence lead investigations.
Since retiring from the Force in 2002, he has worked in private practice and managed a number of high profile local and international assignments including an asset tracing investigation on behalf of HM Attorney General Jersey, a forensic accountancy investigation into money laundering using Indian Government Bonds and a fraud investigation conducted in Jersey, the UK, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
A qualified financial adviser with the Chartered Insurance Institute and qualified member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Charles’ new role will involve him in the execution of complex assignments requiring both financial and non-financial investigation skills.

Julie is a law graduate who qualified with Price Waterhouse in 1994. Julie joined Smith & Williamson in 1997 and became a partner in 2001. With Mike Stevenson, Julie set up Middleton Partners offices in Salisbury and Southampton, both of which are now part of Begbies Traynor.
Julie is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and is a Fellow of The Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Julie deals with all aspects of Corporate Recovery and turnaround work and takes all form of personal insolvency appointments.
