Jobs and residents’ home saved as Ty Mawr Nursing Home bought out of administration

Abercrave, near Swansea-located Ty Mawr Nursing Home (“the Care Home”) has been bought out of administration saving 43 jobs and ensuring more than 30 residents can stay in their homes.

A sale of the Care Home, which offers nursing, personal care and mental health provision, was completed on 30 June 2025, after Huw Powell and Katrina Orum of Begbies Traynor in Cardiff were appointed Joint Administrators on 4 March 2025.

During the period of administration the Care Home, was operated by the Joint Administrators with support from Lucy Corner and the team at Cornerstone Care.

The purchasers, Sirajali Panjwani, Shyam and Nisha Done of Mawr Care Ltd, already run a group of care homes across the UK. The sale was negotiated by Oliver McCarthy and Rob Kinsman at Christie & Co. Solicitors acting for Begbies Traynor were Abigail Hadfield and team at TLT whilst Llyr Williams of Swayne Johnson acted for the purchaser.

Ty Mawr Nursing Home opened in 1984. In 2011, it went through refurbishment and is registered for a maximum number of 54 places. These services include convalescent care, palliative care, day care and sheltered housing.
