On 7 February Andy Clay and Rob Sadler of Begbies Traynor in York were appointed as joint administrators of York-based MSS Clean Technology, through Real Business Rescue, part of Begbies Traynor Group.
Established in 1982 and based in Sheriff Hutton, MSS specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of laboratories, cleanrooms and controlled environments. It operates worldwide and has a strong reputation within the pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare and electronics sectors.
The company is continuing to trade whilst in the hands of the joint administrators while ongoing contracts are brought to completion and a buyer is sought for the business as a going concern.
Joint administrator Rob Sadler said: “MSS is well-known as a specialist in the design and installation of controlled environments and has established a blue chip client base. We are continuing to trade the business while it is marketed as we are confident that with its valuable IP and brand as well as the directors’ expertise and its extensive contacts, it will be of interest to a number of potential buyers.”
All enquiries in relation to the sale of the business should be made to Steve Jordan at BTG Asset Consulting on (0113) 244 0044.
Dave began working in the insolvency sector in 1997 and in 2005 became one of the country’s youngest insolvency practitioners, taking formal appointments at David Horner & Co.
Having assisted David Horner with growing his own practice, which was acquired by Begbies Traynor in 2007, Dave created Broadbents Business Recovery Services (in 2010) with Andrew Peace. Following rapid expansion during the following five years, their business was purchased by Begbies Traynor in March 2015.
Dave specialises in small- to medium-sized owner-managed businesses, using the experience and skills obtained from a number of years within the sector, as well as those gained from running his own company. Whether it’s a PAYE employee, a self-employed trader or a director of a limited company, Dave takes pride in being able to find a number of solutions to a wide range of problems.
Using skills honed in his brief time as a schoolteacher, Dave has also run a number of seminars in Yorkshire and the North East for individual firms of accountants and solicitors and for larger groups of professionals at their well-attended spring/autumn events.
