Five new appointments have been made to the fast-growing team in the South at business recovery specialists Begbies Traynor.

Marco Piacquadio, aged 33, an experienced insolvency practitioner, joined at the beginning of February as an appointment taking director.

Well connected in the regional business community, Marco's remit will be to pick up existing cases as well as new enquiries, helping further establish Begbies Traynor's reputation in combining national expertise with on-the-ground knowledge. He will particularly focus on Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, where he has spent most of his career.

Also joining the team at Salisbury offfice at the beginning of 2018 was Liam Burrows, who has been appointed senior administrator. The office has been further boosted by the appointment of three trainee administrators in Patricia Jenvey, Gregg Stennett and Holly Davies.

Begbies  Traynor is the UK's leading firm of business rescue and recovery specialists, and the team is led by Julie Palmer, the regional managing partner for Begbies Traynor in the South West.

Julie Palmer said there had been an increased demand from the region's businesses as they continued to face challenges in the current climate.

She said: "As well as an unprecedented increase in insolvency work, we have also seen a rise in demand for advisory and restructuring services where, as part of an integrated package, we are assisted by our local refinance offering.

"In order for us to continue to provide the highest levels of service, we need the right team in place with a mix of skillsets and experience - and that experience in turn is backed up by extensive local knowledge, which we believe gives us an unrivalled offering in our sector.

"We constantly research distress levels across all sectors in order that we can not only help businesses face up to problems, but equip them to be able to turn their situation around to one of stability and growth.

"The appointments we have made are key to being able to do that, and I am delighted to welcome each of them to the team."
