The sale of Derbyshire point-of-sale display manufacturer Derwent Displays out of administration has secured the future of the business, safeguarding all 33 jobs.

Ben Fallon and Louise Longley of BTG Begbies Traynor, were appointed joint administrators of Derwent Packaging Limited, which is based in Denby, near Belper, and trades as Derwent Displays, on 8 July 2026.

The company had experienced cash flow pressures and, prior to the administration, an accelerated sales process was launched to seek investment or a sale of the business.

The sale was completed on 9 July to Bradford-based firm Mailway Displays, part of the Mailway Packaging Group. The transaction secures the jobs of all 33 employees, with the business, which will now trade as Mailway Displays, continuing to operate from its Denby manufacturing facility and fulfilling customer orders.

Founded as a family-run business in 1994, before being bought out by the management team in 2023. Derwent Displays designs, manufactures and fulfils temporary point-of-sale displays, bespoke retail packaging and fulfilment solutions for brands, marketing agencies and print management companies across the UK. The business manages the entire production process in-house, from design and manufacture through to fulfilment.

Ben Fallon, joint administrator and director at BTG Begbies Traynor, said:

"We are really pleased to have secured this sale, protecting the jobs of the entire team, delivering value for the creditors, and enabling this long-established Derbyshire manufacturer to continue trading under new ownership.

"The business has developed an excellent reputation within the retail display and packaging sector over more than 30 years and this ensures the future for a highly skilled East Midlands manufacturing business and an important local employer."

Louise Longley, joint administrator and BTG Begbies Traynor partner, added:

"This is an excellent outcome following an accelerated sales process, ensuring the business can continue operating from its Denby site with its experienced workforce in place.

"We would like to thank the employees, customers, suppliers and professional advisers for their support throughout, enabling a smooth transition to the new owners and providing a strong platform for the business's future."

Gateley Legal advised the joint administrators, with Hill Dickinson acting for the purchaser.
