New Portsmouth Office for Begbies Traynor

The firm is part of a national network and already well-established in Southampton. An increasing number of appointments in the Portsmouth area towards the end of last year confirmed the requirement for a second office in the Solent business corridor and the Lakeside launch further reinforces the strength of expertise provided by both Begbies Traynor and BTG McInnes Corporate Finance across the region.

The Portsmouth team will be led by Andrew Watling who has 25 years experience in the insolvency industry with the last three years spent working at Begbies Traynor.

Andrew is highly experienced in both corporate and personal business failures and his most notable assignments include handling the trading administrations of a multi-million pound construction company, several manufacturers and wholesale distributors – all of which ended with a successful continuation of the business in some form.

Begbies Traynor Partner Antony Fanshawe said: “Begbies Traynor is delighted to be joining the Portsmouth business community. In the current environment businesses are increasingly in need of locally-based expert support to help tackle business funding issues and develop strategies for restructuring which can potentially help them survive the downturn.

Current assignments in the local area include the Administration of a small care home and the liquidation of a bio-fuels company, as well as a number of ongoing disposals of companies on the Corporate Finance/Restructuring side of the business. We have also recently dealt with the insolvencies of a number of manufacturing companies in the city and its surrounding areas.”
