Scott Kippax has been promoted to partner at Begbies Traynor Group’s Exeter office, taking the reins at the firm’s Balliol House premises in the city.
A seasoned insolvency practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency, Scott joined the firm in October 2020 and works with businesses across Devon and Cornwall offering a comprehensive suite of rescue, recovery and restructuring services. He is fully licenced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
The move extends the team’s overall numbers in Exeter to eight, making it one of the largest insolvency specialist operations in the city and comes after longstanding office head, Ian Walker, stepped down from the role in May this year.
Commenting on the news, Scott Kippax says:
“It’s a real privilege to take on the office head role from such an accomplished and respected practitioner as Ian. As we tentatively come out of the final phase of lockdown, we are seeing increasing enquiries from companies across the South West who are actively reflecting on their post pandemic position and we’re looking forward to working with more businesses as they prepare for what are likely to be a challenging and unpredictable number of months ahead.”
Begbies Traynor provides a full spectrum of insolvency and restructuring services to companies across Devon and Cornwall, through three offices in Exeter, Plymouth and Truro.
Scott is an Insolvency Practitioner and Partner in our Exeter and Truro offices and covers the South West.
Scott has a passion for insolvency work with over 20 years’ experience in both corporate and personal insolvency assignments. Having built his experience across a range of firms from Big 4 to small boutique, he is very well placed to advise all stakeholders, particularly directors/owners of SME businesses and financial institutions, in cases varying in size and complexity.
He is proud to be from the South West and offers local professional advice throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Scott is Licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and is a Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (MABRP). In addition, during a 6 year spell in Australia he passed the Insolvency Education Program to become an Insolvency Practitioner down under.
