The UK's leading independent business recovery practice, Begbies Traynor, has opened an office in Taunton.
The move will enable the firm to build on work it has already done in the town and with the wider South West business communities.
The Taunton team will be headed up by two partners - Ian Walker and Neil Vinnicombe - both of whom have held long-standing senior positions within Begbies Traynor.
Mr Walker said: "Many firms are finding that as the economic recovery continues, fresh challenges such as over-trading and consequent cash-flow strains are once again threatening businesses with ambitious growth plans. This is especially the case now that the Hinkley C project, in Bridgwater, will be proceeding. Combined with Brexit uncertainties and a more proactive tax recovery programme from HMRC we consider that it’s an opportune time for businesses and their advisors to be able to seek appropriate advice locally at an early stage."
Mr Vinnicombe added that the two partners had a combined 65 years' experience helping companies and individuals facing financial challenges. "That experience can only be obtained by dealing with challenging situations in the real world of business, and helping organisations resolve what are often quite complex issues, and we believe our track record is unparalleled across a range of sectors.
Neil joined Begbies Traynor in 2003. He successfully sat the JIEB exams in 2005 and is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. He has 29 years' insolvency experience having previously worked at KPMG, Ernst & Young and Grant Thorton in Bristol.
He has a broad range of experience in Corporate Recovery and Rescue and works from the Bristol and Bath offices.
