Louise Baxter, has been promoted to Partner at the Cambridge office of business rescue, recovery and restructuring specialist Begbies Traynor.
The Cambridge office only opened two years ago, with Louise tasked with launching it, and she says she is pleased with the way the office has grown.
She said: “In previous recessions it has taken 18 months for Cambridge to feel the effects. This recession is no different and we are now starting to see an increase in troubled businesses seeking specialist advice.
“More companies are finding the going tough. Thankfully some are seeking help early enough to allow us to make a difference in terms of rescuing the business. The message is getting through, but inevitably others will leave it too late.”
Louise said she was “delighted” at her promotion.
“The office is going from strength to strength and we are continuing to build the team. There is a five year plan to grow the office significantly.
Originally from London, her first job was with NatWest Bank. From banking she moved into insolvency and her first corporate recovery role was with a leading accountancy firm in London. She passed her insolvency exams and has now spent nearly 30 years in the profession.
Relocating to Cambridge 20 years ago, she subsequently spent 12 years with an independent firm in the city before joining Begbies Traynor.
Mark is a partner in the Birmingham and Cheltenham offices. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and also a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. He joined the company in 2005 and has over 10 years restructuring and insolvency experience. He advises directors and management teams across a wide range of sectors.
