Fifty jobs have been saved after a Salisbury care agency which supplied home care nursing staff across Wiltshire was sold out of administration.

Prime Care Agency Ltd, of Durrington, near Salisbury, entered administration on May 1 with Julie Palmer and Simon Campbell, of business rescue and recovery specialists Begbies Traynor, appointed joint administrators.

The business was sold to Primecare (Salisbury) Ltd, with the positions of all 50 employees protected.

Julie Palmer said: “Prime Care was a profitable business but had encountered difficulties due to creditor pressures. Following our advice, the firm has been restructured and we expect it to trade successfully into the future.”

Prime Care Agency Ltd was established in 1997 and provided domiciliary care nurses under contract to local authorities.
