We are delighted to invite you to our Spring Seminar taking place on Thursday 26 March 2020 in the European Suite at The Marriott Hotel, Gateshead.
Our discussions will focus on two areas of interest:
The return of crown preference on 6 April 2020 will have consequences for all class of creditors in an insolvency, however secured lenders may be especially effected as their security could be diluted. Martin Barron from BTG Advisory will explain what part of crown debt will gain preferential status and discuss how secured creditors can mitigate their risk.
The reverse charge for the construction industry is a major change to the way VAT is collected. Its introduction was postponed last year but it is due to start on 1 October 2020. Jane Deeks from Deeks VAT Consultancy Limited will look at what the reverse charge means; when it applies, mixed supplies, VAT invoicing and cashflow issues. By attending this seminar you should be ready to deal with this change.
The seminar will also be a good opportunity to network and catch up with accountants, financial and legal professionals.
Registration is from 7.30am for breakfast rolls and refreshments with the formal presentation commencing at 8.00am. We expect this will last around an hour, afterwards there will be a further networking opportunity.
To register your interest in attending please email Shannon Farndale or call 0191 269 9820
