Kevin is a Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 25 years’ experience in corporate recovery and insolvency.
Kevin has developed considerable expertise in advising stakeholders of businesses facing financial distress. This includes advising directors of companies in the ‘zone of insolvency’ on their duties and on avoiding the numerous potential pitfalls.
Since 2006, Kevin has advised trustees of defined benefit pension schemes on the strength of employers’ covenants and on the negotiation of deficit recovery plans. He also advises companies and partnerships facing difficulty meeting their pension liabilities.
Kevin also has extensive expertise in forensic accountancy, including fraud investigation and the recovery of assets, and is currently involved in a number of high-value litigation cases.
On occasion, Kevin is asked to act as an expert witness. In 2014 he acted as expert in Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund v Stena Line Ltd, which was listed in The Lawyer as one of the top 20 cases of that year. The case centred on how the fund’s £272 million deficit should be apportioned between the 240 participating employers of seamen employed in the British Merchant Navy.
