Forensic Accounting

Begbies Traynor provides integrated forensic accounting and investigation services that help lawyers, insurers, regulatory authorities, corporations and individuals by providing skilled, timely and cost-effective input into dispute issues all over the wor

Forensic Accounting Services at Begbies Traynor are led by a team of dedicated Partners and senior staff, all qualified Chartered and Certified Accountants with specialist forensic accounting expertise, and all with experience of acting in both civil and criminal matters.

We are available to assist clients from before a claim is brought, through all negotiations, legal processes and mediation to an agreed settlement, or to give expert witness evidence in court.

Civil Actions

In civil actions, we assist in Commercial Disputes and in Personal Litigation, be that by providing detailed calculations, assessment and expert witness reports, or by Expert Determination when parties cannot reach agreement on contractual obligations.

We provide business valuations for use in Litigation, for negotiation/settlements where Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO’s) are served, and for use in Ancillary Relief Proceedings on divorce.

We also evaluate the quantum of financial losses arising out of claims ranging from Personal Injury, Medical Accident, Loss of Dependency in fatal accidents, Business Extinguishment or Relocation, to Product Liability or Professional Negligence.

Criminal Matters

In criminal matters, we act in cases that involve Financial Crime, including Theft, Fraud and Money
Laundering, where it is always important to consider all explanations and to accurately quantify associated financial gains or losses.  If cases proceed to Confiscation under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA), we are well practised at undertaking the detailed financial analysis and investigations necessary to establish and evidence the facts, cutting through the broad-brush statutory assumptions.

Bespoke Investigation Service

We also provide a Bespoke Investigation Service, for cases that are not subject to litigation – such as investigations into suspected fraud by employees or suppliers, or unexplained anomalies in the accounts and financial reports, or financial trends that you cannot explain/identify.

We offer a one-stop solution, utilising our in-house Forensic Accountants, our Computer Forensic Specialists to efficiently identify relevant digitally-held data, and our Investigation Specialists to provide up-to-date intelligence on individuals and corporations worldwide.
